About Robert

Robbert-Jan Nuis, founder of RJ Nuis Counseling and Expatriate counseling, is Dutch by birth but considers himself part American because of the time spent and education received making him a native Dutch and English speaker.

Robbert-jan Nuis was born in Poortugaal, The Netherlands.

From there his family moved to Germany and back to Holland and he gained a lot of experience in moving, adapting to new surroundings and making the best of new situations.

Then his family moved to California, USA where Robbert went to High school in Terra Linda. Because his dream was to design and build his own car he went to college in Wyoming and received a degree in Automotive Business management.

While traveling between Holland and America Robbert was drafted by the Dutch Army and he volunteered to serve his time as a Peace Officer for The United Nations in former Yugoslavia.
