About Our Company
The idea for a counseling practice specifically geared towards the needs of Expatriate communities was born in San Rafeal in 2003 by founder Robbert-Jan Nuis.
At the time he was going through the Hypnotherapy training with the H.T.I. and several NLP courses with NLP Marin. Having been an expat since the age of 1 1/2 and gone through extensive personal training and development during the course of many years he realized that there must be a market for it. After having done extensive market research, gone through an Internet Marketing course and trial periods in different cities he decided to officially set up business in Amsterdam in 2004.
After some initial fallbacks and going through some learning curves his practice blossomed and people started contacting him asking to work for and with him. Initially he was open for the idea of working together but not employing people. During his time in Halifax, Canada, working on his book with a local ghostwriter he came across Tim Hortons and read the Franchise book and instantly knew that was the direction he wanted to go.
From that moment on, January 2008, Expatriate Counseling became a franchise ®.
Since then the initial Expatriate Counseling practice in Amsterdam, Holland has grown and expanded into different cities in The Netherlands, Switzerland in Paris Franceand in the process of expanding into other countries in 2010 and beyond!
